Sports Injury Rehabilitation in Western Sydney
When a sports injury is managed properly, athletes get back faster, perform better on return and re-injure less. When it is managed poorly and the pain settles without real rehabilitation, it becomes a recurring problem.
Our lead physiotherapist holds a Titled Sports Physiotherapist qualification from the Australian Physiotherapy Association. This is a two-year post-graduate specialisation beyond a standard physio degree and one of the highest clinical credentials in Australian sports physiotherapy. Very few clinics in Western Sydney hold this.
Sports Injuries We Treat
✅ACL and knee ligament injuries Pre- and post-surgical ACL programs with objective return-to-sport criteria. We don't clear athletes based on how it feels — we test for strength symmetry, hop capacity and movement quality.
✅Ankle sprains and instability Full rehabilitation — not just strapping and returning. Proprioception, strength and sport-specific movement.
✅Hamstring strains Progressive loading protocols and sprint mechanics work. One of the highest reinjury rates in sport when managed without proper rehab.
✅Knee and patellar tendinopathy Patellofemoral pain, jumper's knee and runner's knee with progressive tendon loading specific to your sport.
✅Calf and Achilles injuries Tendon loading programs and careful return-to-running timeline management.
✅Stress fractures Load management and a structured return to training with clear progression criteria.
✅Groin and hip injuries Groin strains, hip flexor tears and adductor tendinopathy common in football, martial arts and gym athletes.
How We Approach Sports Rehabilitation
The return-to-sport decision is one of the most important clinical judgements in sports physiotherapy and one that is most often made too early. We use objective criteria, not just how the injury feels on a good day.
For ACL rehabilitation, that means strength symmetry testing, hop testing and sport-specific load tolerance before clearance. For ankle sprains it means balance testing, strength measures and a change-of-direction assessment. Every sport has different demands and the criteria reflect that.
We also work backward from the injury to find what caused it. A recurring ankle sprain is a proprioception and strength problem, not bad luck. A recurring hamstring strain is usually a workload or mechanics issue. Fixing the root cause is what prevents the next one.
